Commercial Business Registration

Commercial businesses include any company doing business from a commercial location within the municipal limits of the City of Rio Rancho.  Please note, a physical address is required.  You may not use a PO Box.
  • For all commercial registrations, you will need to complete a fire inspection, building inspection, and zoning verification
  • If you are planning to rent or lease a location for your business, please check with the City’s Development Services Department first to ensure there are no zoning concerns
  • The price for an annual registration is $35 plus any applicable fire inspection fees. A listing of fire inspection fees can be found by clicking here
  • If you are a loan agent, pawn broker, private detective, auctioneer, or dealer in second hand goods, a license is required for your business. Please refer to the Clerk's Office Schedule of Fees for applicable fees
