Rio Rancho Public Libraries prides itself on its welcoming environment. As an inclusive organization, the library’s doors are open to all, including children with autism spectrum disorder and/or sensory processing disorder and their families. All should be comfortable in the library. As an extension of this philosophy, the Loma Colorado Main Library has introduced the following sensory friendly experiences and options.

Noise reducing headphones are available for library use at Loma Colorado’s Circulation and Reference desks.
Fidget toys are available for library use at the Circulation and Reference desks.
A sensory friendly evening is offered at the Loma Colorado Main Library twice a month. Activities and designated quiet areas are available on these evenings. Please see the library calendar for designated dates.
