Star Wars Fest 8 Coming to Rio Rancho

On Saturday, January 25, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Star Wars is taking over Rio Rancho’s Loma Colorado Main Library again. This free, all-ages event - with origins in a galaxy far, far away - has something for everyone to enjoy!

Those attending the event will be able to:

•    Adopt a Baby Yoda from the Baby Yoda Adoption Center 

•    View a giant display of Star Wars LegosStar Wars

•    Have their picture taken with members of the local 501st and Rebel legions

•    Enjoy drinks and cookies at the Cantina

•    Make Pool Noodle Light Sabers and learn martial arts moves

•    Become a Storm Trooper in Storm Trooper Training Camp

•    Participate in the hourly raffle to win Star Wars themed prizes throughout the event

•    Interact with our event partners: Magic Mirror Photobooth NM, Chocglitz&Cream, QueLab, and Martial Arts Education

Star Wars Fest 8 is coordinated and organized by the city of Rio Rancho’s Library and Information Services Division with funding support provided by the Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc.  Last year’s Star Wars Fest at the Loma Colorado Main Library attracted more than 1,200 attendees.

The 501st and Rebel legions are all-volunteer organizations that seek to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes and by supporting their local communities through costumed charity and volunteer work.
