    This meeting is not open to the public and is being held in accordance with Section 10-15-1 (H) 2 NMSA – Limited personnel matters; provided that for purposes of the Open Meetings Act, “limited personnel matters” means the discussion of hiring, promotion, demotion, dismissal, assignment or resignation of or the investigation or consideration of complaints or charges against any individual public employee; provided further that this Subsection is not to be construed as to exempt final actions on personnel from being taken at open public meetings; nor does it preclude an aggrieved public employee from demanding a public hearing. Judicial candidates interviewed by any commission shall have the right to demand an open interview

    The Governing Body holds a regular work session meeting each month at 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. At a work session meeting, no formal action is taken by the Governing Body. The meetings are streamed live and archived on the City's website and broadcast on the City’s Rio Vision government cable channel 56, which is available to Rio Rancho Cable One subscribers.

  4. Comprehensive Plan Public Meeting

    August 21, 2018, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Colinas del Norte Elementary School

    During August and September, the City of Rio Rancho will host six public meetings where residents are invited to attend, learn more about the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and provide input on how the City should develop in the next 20 years. The City’s Comprehensive Plan is essentially a guide for future development decision making and is a statement of how a community desires to grow, with respect to population growth, housing, transportation, land use, public facilities, economic development, etc. In 2001, with input from the public, the City developed the Vision 2020 Integrated Comprehensive Plan. Since that time, the plan has been reviewed and amended every five years or so.

Parks, Recreation and Community Services Calendar

  1. Mayor's Sunday is Funday

    August 19, 2018, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Haynes Park & Pool

    Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with your family. You’ll find musical entertainment, games, assorted food vendors, activities for the kids, and much more. Haynes Pool will be offering free swimming to the public during the Sunday is Funday event. Admittance will be first come, first served. There will be 3 sessions to select from: 12:00 - 1:30 pm, 2:00 - 3:30 pm, and 4:00 - 5:30 pm. Pool capacity is 279 people per session. Interested in being a vendor with family-oriented products or a sponsor of this event? Booths and spaces are available. Please call Dave Heil at 505-228-7189 for more information. All proceeds raised by this event will benefit youth programs in Rio Rancho including Boys & Girls Club, Boy Scouts and the Parks & Recreation Helping Hands Fund.
