New Mexico is a “strange” place, rich in beauty, blessed with diverse cultures and traditions. Learn more about New Mexico’s history from Mary Decker, author of “Roadrunner Tales.” Hidden within our long history are stories that are uniquely New Mexican: the bat bombers, the handshake that delayed statehood, the movie that infamously made history, the one-hole golf tournament name for a gunfight, the opera mystery – examples of tales as colorful as the place where they happened. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Thank you also to the NM Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
