The City of Rio Rancho's Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful division invites volunteers of all ages to take part in this year’s Great American Cleanup, set to take place on Saturday, April 29, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. This nationwide event is an ideal opportunity for schools, businesses, civic groups, neighborhood and service organizations, and individuals to contribute to the well-being of their community. Activities include cleaning public lands, right-of-ways (roads), illegal dumpsites, vacant lots, school campuses and parks. Advance registration by April 21 is required to receive cleanup supplies. Call 505-891-5015 to register.

Volunteers will be rewarded with a "Thank you BBQ" at Haynes BBQ Pavilion from noon – 2:00 p.m. following the cleanup. Volunteers will be eligible to win prizes donated by local businesses at the “Thank you BBQ.” Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful has set a goal of 2,000 volunteers for the 2017 cleanup.
