Rio Rancho Fire and Rescue (RRFR) is a dynamic and growing City department. Our goal is to constantly provide the best possible service to the citizens of Rio Rancho.
RRFR provides service to the 103 square miles within the city's boundaries, as well as the unincorporated area of Sandoval County west of city limits.
Firefighting is a strenuous profession. All RRFR personnel are required to pass a physical agility test and medical evaluation each year, so they have fitness training built into their daily schedules. They are also cross-trained as EMTs or Paramedics.
RRFR has six staffed fire stations located throughout the City and firefighters work 48-hour shifts, so each station has living quarters.
