The Nuisance Parking Regulation Policy establishes the parameters for requesting parking regulations on public roadways that are not otherwise specified within City Ordinance, that are not necessary for compliance with the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO) A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets for sight distance at intersections, or issues that are deemed an operational necessity.
Nuisance Parking Restrictions are parking restrictions established on a public street for the benefit, or convenience of the property owners who consider parking adjacent to their property or along their street as blight or nuisance to themselves or the neighborhood.
In an effort to standardize the process for evaluating nuisance parking concerns while respecting the preferences of residents within the neighborhood, the City of Rio Rancho Traffic Section has set forth the below policy and procedures.
